Little poems

La Haine

Elle tisse sa toile dans nos coeurs,
Lentement mais sûrement.
Elle se nourrit de nos peurs,
Nos craintes, nos désirs, nos tourments.

Elle tisse sa toile dans nos coeurs,
Elle pique et crache son venin troublant.
Et l'insecte à l'intérieur,
Ne peut qu'attendre le dénouement.

Elle tisse sa toile, camoufle nos peurs,
Elle nous sourit et nous ment.
Un regard froid, l'insecte meurt.
Elle gagne toujours finalement.

L'ortie et la rose

L'ortie se cache derrière la rose,
Parce que la rose est plus jolie.
Il est malheureux que personne n'ose
Déclarer sa flamme avec des orties.

Fût-elle élevée avec amour,
par le plus vif des jardiniers,
Jamais ne verra-t-elle le jour
Où elle pourra la dépasser.

Il est des gens voués au dégoût;
On les regarde et on frissonne.
Mais la beauté ça n'est pas tout,
C'est le coeur qui définit la personne.

VoIP blocked in Lebanon

Here's an article that describes the situation.

For those of you who don't feel like reading, VoIP is a technology that allows to make phone calls over the Internet. The Lebanese government blocked it last week so that it protects its interests, especially in International calls.

Is there something we can do to prevent this ? Anyone has an idea ?

Art exercise

To you, what is the meaning of "art"? Give a definition. Don't copy/paste one from Wikipedia, or any other website. Try to come up with your own.

Landslide in Bsalim

A russian guy working in Lebanon posted this on his website. Be sure to check it out.

He has a point. How the fuck can we live in a country where people ignore basic safety rules? For all I know, my parents could have bought an apartment in this future building. I hate the asshole digging that pit.

Fuck! Forget about safety, what about the communications lines that went down?! This is public property. There are people there who will have their phone line/internet cut off because of this asshole.

I'm pissed ...

The NOT couple

The NOT couple was sitting next to me this afternoon on the bus. I call them the not couple, because they perfectly embody this generic feeling of emptiness you find so often in big cities. They are not ... everything, they're nothing. He isn't tall, he isn't short either. He's not young but he's not old. She's not pretty but she's not ugly for that matter.

The "Not" couple was not talking, but wasn't bored. Until a woman came on the bus. By some mysterious coincidence, she just happened to be a friend of the "not" couple. They were surprised to see her but not disturbed. They chatted for a while. Not once did he look at his wife let alone talk to her. She didn't either. 20 minutes later, they get to their stop, say bye, smiled, and left.

If I ever turn into that guy, shoot me.
